to bunk off
Сбежать откуда-либо или не явиться куда-либо. Это выражение, в настоящее время употребляемое в основном среди школьников, вариант выражения to do a bunk, которое было очень распространено в XIX в.

The police came round to his house to have a talk with him, but he had bunked off. — Полицейские пришли к нему домой, чтобы побеседовать с ним, но он удрал.

Нет никакой связи с bunk bed (двухэтажная кровать). Bunk или bung означает поднимать, подбрасывать, бросать.

Don't bother to tidy up the toys — just bung everything in the cupboard. — Не трать время на уборку игрушек — просто побросай всё в шкаф.
